UPDATED 2009/12/14
Via the USBA Message Board there was a mention of this situation:
Wilbie-Mylie is a spayed, three year old Boerboel female currently in a home situation in Northern MI where the current owner is unable to spend time with her.
She will be placed with Kate Nicholson later this week, but as Kate doesn’t have space she’ll need a real “forever home” ASAP. Wilby Mylie is house trained, crate trained, good with cats, and seems good with basic obedience commands. A home with no other dogs where she can be pampered would be ideal, but other setups could be possible.

For info, contact Kate at knicholson@carolina.rr.com (as always, I’m too busy to help with vetting prospective homes, but can connect people together if required.)
Note that if some sort of rescue arrangement takes place and transport is an issue, drop me a note as I am not all that far from MI and can do some help with transport, if required.
Thanks,
Ron
Just a head’s up, someone posted these two twitters on “Exitpoint”
which is Doug Spink. Spink was arrested for operating a beastiality farm in Sumas Wa and was convicted of parole violations. He was sentenced to three years in prison. You might want to add his name to your banned from adopting lists because he had a Boerboel who was seized along with six other dogs by the Whatcom Humane Society.
Do a google search for his name in the ‘news’ tab and get the whole sordid story, you def don’t want animals going to this creap!

Oh ya, I’m familiar with that story. Too familiar.
I actually don’t mind the RT’s, though: I don’t care if it’s Mother Theresa or Hitler doing an RT — if it results in a good home and a saved animal, that’s fine with me.
The good news is we don’t do any placement stuff via this board — we just pointed out dogs here that may slip under the radar, and if people said they were interested we hooked them up with each other and warned the people to do lots of due diligence — these are tough dogs to place for a lot of reasons, and I think most people know this and did a fair job of checking out the places. Most of the time it is via all breed rescues now anyway, and they are REALLY good at vetting homes.
I now don’t even do that much as there’s a new board called The Boerboel Network which has taken up the baton on rescue in North America: http://www.theboerboelnetwork.com/adopt/adopt.html and frankly it’s a better place for this stuff.
Thanks,
Ron
